Jorge Barahona – CEO

Since 1997, Jorge is the owner of Hotel Monterilla, a boutique hotel placed in Chile’s tourism city capital: Viña del Mar.

He founded AyerViernes in 2000, the most outstanding User Experience Consultancy in Chile, where he has worked in important digital projects with global companies such as Terra, Citibank, GE and local businness like banks, educational enterprises and services.

Also, he teaches User Experience at the prestigious Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile).

Jorge founded Clerk in 2010 convinced that he shared the same wish as SMB hotelier with his colleagues around the world. He wanted to create a simple, effective, safe and usable hotel management service to help hoteliers in their administration duties. And he made it.

In Clerk, Jorge’s passions get mixed: experience design in digital systems, hotel management, and a vision to detect global needs and particular solutions to vertical markets.

AyerViernes, Strategy and Design

AyerViernes is the leader User Experience Consultacy for digital media in Chile. Its work is based on a user centered design methodology to reach clients satisfaction. An important clients portfolio -including global companies and Chile’s most outstanding enterprises- backs up AyerViernes’ strong experience in internet, mobile and other digital services design.

The team directly involved in Clerk is composed by:

• Herbert Spencer: Interaction and interface design at Clerk. Design Master, M.des Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University (USA). Professor at Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile).
• Pedro Arellano: User experience at Clerk. Master in Client’s Behavior from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (Chile). Psychologist, he’s also an international lecturer on information architecture, usability, and digital media interaction.
• Basilio Cáceres: Front end design at Clerk. Graphic designer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile) with a vast experience in development, interface-based programming and integrated systems in Open Source platforms.
• Felipe Lavín: CSS programming at Clerk. Psychologist from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile) and well-known expert in interface-based programming in Open Source platforms.
• Fabián Ramírez: Ruby on Rails (RoR) programming at Clerk. Computer engineer from DUOC UC, he’s also an international lecturer on RoR and Open Source platforms.
